BLACKHAWKS’ TOP LINES LOOKING FAMILIAR AGAIN
The coach Joel Quenneville said late last week that it was unwise to read too much Blackhawks' lines at that time.
On Monday, you can read more about them in rows, and two of the best looked quite familiar.
Marian Hossa was back Jonathan Toews Jersey, where Richard Panik on the left side, and the second line of Artemi Panarin, Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane were together again as the Blackhawks prepped for Wednesday's regular season opener against St. Louis Blues.
Andrew Desjardins out 4-6 weeks of lower body injuries, the bottom two lines are young heavy. Tyler Motte, who wowed in training camp, is on the third line of Marcus Kruger and Ryan Hartman. Vinnie Hinostroza, Nick Schmaltz and Jordin Tootoo comprise the fourth line.
So Blackhawks starts from the top six players who know each other well.
"Right now we are talking about balance, and we believe that the balance and predictability is having four lines, where we have to know," Quenneville said. "It's probably the main reason why we are looking to start a couple of established lines in the front and we will continue that."
Quenneville had spoken to make changes to get more balance to the Blackhawks' lineup. When Hossa returned to practice Friday, he was part of the third line of Marcus Kruger, Panarin was on the top line of Jonathan Toews and Motte was with Anisimov and Kane. Hossa and Kane both said to all the team for the best but in terms of Panarin and Kane, in particular, there is no doubt the two had tremendous chemistry, which was hard to beat, and even harder to disperse. When the two were together following the penalty kill last week's victory over Detroit, Kane was the primary objective of help is Panarin.
Talking after the game, Kane commented on the possibility of she and sharing Panarin.
"Yeah, I mean, you know, last year I think it is probably one of the year that I really only played a couple players, so I'm used to playing all over the place, playing different guys," he said. "Let's see what happens. I know they wanted to try something different game today, and perhaps the entire preseason, so I just call if they tell me to play, I guess."
As of now, Kane and Artemi Panarin Jersey are together again. The same Toews and Hossa. How long things last remains to be seen just a few of the players who have had great success together to see if they can take advantage of this opening night.
